When people think about sports injuries they tend to think about professional athletes and injuries incurred from playing baseball, football, basketball or some other sport. The fact is most of us get injured from many different activities. We see people coming in here that have injured themselves in the gym, running, bike riding, tennis, even basketball games and the list goes on. The main reason for this is not warming up properly, doing too much the first time out, and over training. The most common tend to be strains and sprains but here is a short list of injuries from common sports.
- Back and neck injuries
- Muscle strains
- Spinal misalignment
- Stress factors
- Tennis Elbow
New patients are often reluctant to get immediate attention and will attempt to “tough it out” not really knowing where to go to get help. Chiropractors can help when you’ve suffered an injury as well as help prevent them. When a body becomes injured due to training or a sports activity, some of the symptoms include: Inflammation, neck pain, swelling, muscle spasms, muscle pains, dull pain throughout the and stiffness in the joints.
Part of our chiropractic care is to restore or enhance joint function while resolving joint inflammation and reducing pain. This hands-on therapy is often used to treat neck or back injuries but also relieves pain throughout the joints and muscles in the body.
We’d love to invite all athletes and weekend warriors to come in for preventative chiropractic care and especially once you have been injured. The sooner we see you the faster we can get you on track to relieve the pain.
